PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan--The Philippine National Police (PNP) on
February 13 accorded ELAC the title of best non-government organization
(NGO) in the MIMAROPA Region or Region IV-B.
According to the Police Regional Office, the award shows how the PNP
values ELAC’s uncompromising support and contribution in fulfilling one
of the PNP’s objectives as a partner in the war against those who
destroy the environment.
Atty. Robert Chan, Area Manager of ELAC Palawan, said the award is
proof that ELAC does not align itself with ideologies that counter the
government’s programs, such as those of the Communist Party of the
Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) or Moro National Liberation
Front (MNLF), and that it remains non-partisan in political matters.
The awarding took place at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City on the
occasion of the PNP’s 15th founding anniversary. Region IV-B covers the
provinces of Mindoro Oriental, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon,
and Palawan. |
